Our Story & Mission
Founded in 2020, River Oaks Food Pantry was created two weeks into the pandemic lock down to meet a simple but urgent need—providing food to neighbors facing hunger. As a ministry of River Oaks United Methodist Church and in partnership with Tarrant Area Food Bank, we serve with dignity, care, and a belief that everyone deserves to feel seen and supported.
We welcome individuals and families from nearby zip codes, offering a streamlined, respectful experience that prioritizes kindness and human connection. With the support of our volunteers and partners, we’ve grown into a purpose-built facility that helps us serve more neighbors with warmth and efficiency.
Here, food is just the beginning. Every visit is a chance to connect—with a friendly face, a helpful hand, and a community that cares.
Our Location
We’re located on the property of the River Oaks United Methodist Church at 4800 Ohio Garden Rd, River Oaks, TX 76114, a place where faith and community meet in action.
Our building was formerly a Boy Scout hut at the north end of the property. The building is located at the corner of Long Ave and Arc, not on Ohio Garden where our beautiful sanctuary lies. We fly an American flag and have signs to help you find us!
